So many changes. . .

The past few weeks have been full of changes. We lost our uncle 2 weeks ago. This past weekend my mom lost her aunt on Saturday. The very next day her aunt's daughter, mom's cousin, passed away in her sleep. My poor mom. I fill for her loss. My mom's sister was also diagnosed with breast cancer a couple of months ago. Aunt Judy is doing great after her surgery. Mom sold her father's home and closes on it Thursday. Clyde is flying down to Midland tomorrow to drive mom's truck here. Mom will be jumping from house to house for the next few months.

Today I went in for my annual check up. After telling Dr. Finke about Aunt Judy, she has ordered me to have a mammogram. Who would have thought that I would have to have one at the young age of 36??? She said that the rule of thumb is if someone as close as Aunt Judy has breast cancer you order a mammogram. Her rule of thumb is if ANYONE in your family has breast cancer you get a mammogram. If it is normal, than you don't have to have one again until you are 40. SO, here is my advice to my sisters, Michelle, Heather, and Tracy. . . . GO AND GET A MAMMOGRAM NOW!!!!!

I have been doing more embroidery for friends in the ward. I love it! I am off to deliver Sheri's aprons she ordered. After that I think I will order a sandwich and go visit everyone at playgroup.

You continue to amaze me with how busy you constantly are. How do you do it? I'm glad to hear you had your mammogram, it's never too early when you have a family history! Have fun at lunch and please post some pictures of your embroidery. I'd love to see them!

Good Luck with your mammogram Steph.. I lost a really good friend last year to breast cancer and she was diagnosed when she was 37 yrs old. She wasn't "old" enough to get a mammogram either and it took her life at the age of 45. It is such a scary thing and when family members are diagnosed I agree that everyone else should be extra caucious. Its very good that your Dr. sees that and is big on prevention!! :)
